A desktop browser for the AI apps you already use. They research in tabs you watch, everything they read is kept, and your Orb sorts it all on your computer.
Watch your AI work
Once Skillerr is connected, your AI's web searches and page reads run in Skillerr, in tabs you can see.
- Real tabs, many at once. Every page your AI opens is a real tab. When it opens several, they show side by side in fleet view (⇧⌘F), and the aurora ring turns on the ones it's reading right now.
- A live view in Claude Desktop's chat. In Claude Desktop and other MCP Apps hosts, one live widget follows the AI in the chat. It shows only the tabs that AI opened, never yours and never another AI's, with its latest steps.
- Pause, Take over, Review. From the live view or from Skillerr. Approvals are always decided in Skillerr, next to the page.
- Audit. Every page the AI opened, read or tried to open in this research, most recent first: read, opened, couldn't open (with the reason), blocked by a robot check, or not allowed by you. Click one to open it.
- Show your AI what you see. One click captures the page and copies a line; paste it into your AI and just say what's wrong.
Trails: everything read, kept
Skillerr files what you browse into journeys, and what each AI researches into a trail of its own. The address bar sits in the middle: your trails to its left, your AIs' research to its right.
- Put away when done. An AI never says it has finished, so Skillerr watches: 90 seconds after the AI goes quiet, with none of its tabs loading, its tabs are tucked into its research and closed. Never a tab you're looking at.
- New and unfinished, marked. New research you haven't opened. Unfinished, only from the facts: pages it couldn't open, a robot check or approval it met, pages opened but never read, you pausing it.
- Click for the sources. What the AI concluded, what's unfinished, the pages it read, Open all, Continue with Claude (a line to paste back into the AI app) and Done.
- Your own trails, left of the address bar: each journey with its tabs' icons, how many, and how far through it you are. Continue brings them back, scrolled where you were.
- A clean start every time. When you quit, open tabs wait in their trails. Next launch starts with one new tab.
- Unfinished work, noticed: a form you typed into but never sent, an article read partway, a cart not checked out.
Your Orb
Your own AI model, inside Skillerr: 7.9 MB, 8 µs per page title on one CPU core, over 250× faster than all-MiniLM-L6-v2, the transformer it learned from. It sorts tabs into journeys, finds anything by meaning from the address bar, learns you on your computer and sends nothing anywhere.
You stay in charge
- Approvals for what matters. Payments, passwords, sign-ins, deletions and new skills wait for your OK, enforced by the browser, not by the AI's instructions. With no answer in 55 seconds, the action is declined. Turn on "Ask before every action" for more.
- Robot checks are yours. When a page asks "are you human?", Skillerr hands it to you. It never tries to get past one.
- Real pages, not AI overviews. Your AI's searches open the plain web results (Google's Web filter, DuckDuckGo without AI answers), and links inside AI answer blocks are skipped, so it reads and cites real pages.
- Deep research, 1 to 5 hops. Off by default. Turn it on in Settings and your AI follows the most relevant links from the pages it reads, as many hops deep as you choose.
- Pages are data, not instructions. Hidden text is removed before your AI reads a page, and text that addresses the AI is taken out and flagged.
- Pause, Take over, Undo. Stop it at once (⇧⌘P), take the browser yourself, hand it back. Most steps can be undone.
- Skills from your habits. Do something the same way three times, on two or more days, and the Orb offers to save it as a standard
SKILL.mdyour AI can follow. Always with your OK.

Claude Desktop (the free plan works), Claude Code and Cursor. Each can be switched off on its own.
A config you copy
Codex, Windsurf, Cline, LM Studio and any other MCP app, through Skillerr's local MCP bridge.
Skillerr's own AI, optional
The built-in Pilot needs a model you connect: a local one (Ollama, LM Studio), your own API key, or Pro.
ChatGPT isn't supported yet: it only connects to remote servers.

Privacy
- No telemetry. Nothing about your browsing leaves your computer. Update checks send only the app version and platform, and can be turned off.
- Everything local. Settings, research memory, trails and skills in
~/.skillerr/browser; notes and research folders in~/Skillerr; recordings and screenshots in your Movies and Pictures folders. - Trails keep URLs, titles and a few keywords, never page text or what you typed. Pages with password or payment fields keep only the visit.
- The local API listens on 127.0.0.1 only, needs a token, and refuses requests from web pages.
- Your Orb sends 0 bytes. It makes no network requests at all.
- Pages your AI reads go to your AI, the one you chose, as in any browser. With a local model, nothing leaves your computer.
- Forget anything: a page, a trail, a site, or all of it.

Questions, answered
Is it really free?
Yes. Skillerr is free, with nothing held back, when you connect Claude Desktop (the free plan works), Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or another MCP app. Skillerr's own optional built-in AI needs a model you connect: a local model, your own API key, or Pro.
Who is it for?
Anyone who needs answers they can check. Journalists can see every source their AI used. Researchers get research that builds up instead of starting over. Developers can show their AI their screen and hand it research as skills.
Where does my research live?
On your computer: trails and research memory in ~/.skillerr/browser, notes in ~/Skillerr/notes and topic folders in ~/Skillerr/research. Skillerr has no server that collects it.
Can a website hijack my AI?
Hidden text on pages is removed before your AI reads them, and text that tries to give your AI instructions is taken out and flagged to you and your AI. Payments, passwords, sign-ins and deletions always wait for you.
How is this different from Comet or Claude in Chrome?
Browsers like Comet come with their own AI. Claude in Chrome lets Claude work inside your Chrome. Skillerr is a separate browser for whichever AI apps you already use, and it keeps what they read on your computer, sorted by your own Orb and shared by every AI you connect.
Does my AI need Skillerr open?
To browse, yes; Skillerr starts by itself when your AI first uses it. To read your notes and skills, no: they're shared with your AI straight from disk.
Is it open source?
Yes, under the GNU AGPL-3.0. The hosted services on skillerr.com (sign-in, updates, and Pro) are run by us.
